Three Low-Light Flowers Perfect for Homes and Office Spaces

Everyone likes to have beautiful flowers around. But what happens if you don’t have a bright, sunny place to put them? Fortunately, several flowers do very well with minimal natural sunlight. These plants, which tend to be harder than the common stock, are also excellent choices if you’re new to plant care and maintenance or if your busy schedule doesn’t leave much time for plant care and TLC.

Ivy

Ivy is one of the hardiest varieties of low-light plants around. If you’re looking for corporate flowers Las Vegas that require minimal care, ivies are a great choice. English ivy, which is both picturesque and low-maintenance, is an especially good choice. This type of ivy thrives in low-light conditions. It can even be trained into shapes or planted in hanging pots, where it cascades to the ground. Ivy should be allowed to dry out in between watering for best results.

ZZ Plant

The ZZ is a plant that’s native to East Africa. It is also a popular houseplant in South Africa and Kenya. This plant is an indoor plant that can grow up to three feet tall. It does best with moderate amounts of light, which can either be artificial or natural light. This plant is hardy and requires minimal watering. It is relatively adaptable, and its growth depends on its surrounding conditions. A word of caution with the ZZ plant is that it is toxic to cats and dogs, and should be closely monitored if it’s kept in a place where pets are allowed to roam.

Snake Plant

The Snake plant is a beautiful plant native to West Africa and Nigeria. It has many other nicknames too, including “Viper’s Bowstring Hemp” and “Mother-in-Law’s Tongue.” This plant also produces picturesque flowers. Of all the plants that require minimal light and maintenance, this plant is one of the easiest to grow. Snake plant is a versatile plant that’s ideal for the “forgetful gardener.” It can tolerate varying amounts of watering quite well, but it should be allowed to dry out in between waterings.

When you’re considering a plant that does best in low-light conditions, these are three varieties that tend to fare quite well. However, you will still need to keep your local climate and the seasons in mind to ensure you’re investing in a plant that will stick around for a long time. Keep in mind that some plants are more expensive than others. If you’re a novice, it might make the most sense to invest in a less expensive plant to begin with so that you make sure you are not wasting your money on a costly plant that’s difficult to keep alive.

Even if your home or office doesn’t get much natural sunlight, there are still many excellent options for plants that can survive – and thrive – in less than optimal conditions. A knowledgeable florist will happily provide more information on low-light plants and how to care for them.
